CHOOSING Strategically will tell you
what are the Strategic CHOICES you must consider for having a Strategy and
how to make Strategic decisions that make a difference!
We covered the main types of Strategic CHOICES in the Strategy4Action Framework, and we will recap them here (on the video of Part 3 of Choosing Strategically). In Choosing Strategically, I will explain why you must Play to Win and make BOLD Choices that can make a difference. I will also describe how to do it and test the strength of your Choices. On the other hand, it can often be hard to make some Strategic Choices, especially if you have conflicting options and a divided team around them; Choosing Strategically will address how to make such choices while bringing your team together.
Choosing Strategically will also tell you when it’s time to change your Strategic Choices; and it will make the case for teaching Strategy to your team incorporating Strategic thinking into the everyday life of your firm!

Overview and Part 1 – The Importance of BOLD Choices
A lot of Strategic Plans have little or no Strategy in them. Most are extensions of current trends and reflect no real Strategic Choices. Have you chosen to be close to your customers?, operationally efficient?, to value the talent in your organization?, and grow sales? Well, those are not strategic choices. Everybody says that and worst, sometimes they are just buzzwords. Choosing Strategically will teach you what are the Strategic Choices you must make and how to make them in an impactful way.
This video covers the 5 parts of the Choosing Strategically program and includes the first part – The need to make BOLD and how to make them. We will also briefly cover some of the tests we have to make sure you have made strong choices.
Part 2 – The Need to Choose to WIN
Part two tells why you must play to win, how to think about your aspirations, and gives you some rules of thumb on what kind of Goals to set.
Attack like a Winner
Defend your position like a Winner
Choose to WIN
Here’s the Why and the How:
Part 3 - What are the main Strategic CHOICES
We covered the main types of Strategic CHOICES you must make with the Strategy4Action Framework and we will recap them here in the 3rd video of Choosing Strategically covering: the Big Picture decisions, the 6 Key Strategic decisions, and how these can be split into Where To Play and How to Win decisions.
The Big Picture

WHERE to Play and How to WIN
In This video we tell what composes all these things and will end with what should be in your strategic statement.
Part 4 – How to Choose Strategically
Sometimes it can be hard to make some Strategic Choices and you often have conflicting options or even a divided team around them; that is why the Choosing Strategically Framework will address how to make such choices while bringing your team together.
This Framework is largely inspired by the playbook “Reverse engineering strategic options” developed by Roger Martin and described in the book “Playing to Win” which he wrote with AG Lafley. It also draws from the Integrative Thinking approach which has been championed by Roger Martin and is described in “Creating Great Choices” a book co-authored by roger and Jennifer Riel.
Integrative Thinking
draws from opposing views to create a 3rd better option
Choosing Strategically gives these methods a slightly different spin and presents it in 3 steps which also connects it with our other frameworks.

Part 5 – How to know When to Change Your Choices, and Choosing Strategically Everyday
Do you often feel like your company is just muddling along?
At a certain point, you must hit the Pause Button and think – we will present you with 5 questions developed by the great Peter Drucker and Roger Martin that will make you think whether you need to Stop and change your strategic choices (and even your whole strategy) or not.
We will end with a few words of advice, including making the case for teaching Strategy to your team to incorporate Strategic thinking into the everyday life of your company.
